The looksmaxxing chart is the ladder of labels that rating forums attach to the PSL scale: sub 3, LTN, MTN, HTN, Chadlite, Chad and True Adam. Every version online disagrees at the edges, because there are two scales in circulation (the original 1–8 PSL scale and the newer out-of-10 charts) and no tier was ever measured. This page puts the tiers on one chart, gives both sets of numbers, explains what each label means and what it does not, and shows which bands the free PSL score test can actually place a photo in.
Short Answer
Sub 5 means below PSL 5, the high-tier normie line, and by the scale's own construction most faces sit there. Above it the ladder runs HTN (5–5.5), Chadlite (6–6.5), Chad (7–7.5) and True Adam (8), the ceiling nobody is given. No cutoff is measured. A free scan can place a photo in a broad band between about 3.5 and 6+, never in Chad or True Adam.

The out-of-10 column is the number the same name gets on the newer charts, not a conversion: the two scales were never calibrated against each other.
True Adam
PSL 8Also: True Eve, Gigachad, PSL god, AdamWhat forums mean: The theoretical ceiling: the most complete version of a face the forums can imagine, with nothing they would change. It sits a tier above Chad and is attached to a handful of prime-era model and actor photos. Older threads call the same anchor 'PSL god'; newer charts add 'Adamlite' at 7.5 for faces just short of it.
Reality check: By construction nobody rates an 8. It is the anchor the scale hangs from, which is why 'what comes after True Adam' has no answer: there is nothing above the ceiling.
On the free scan: Not assigned. An 8 is defined as a ceiling, so a calculator that hands it out is not using the scale.
Chad
PSL 7–7.5Also: Stacy, PSL 7What forums mean: Exceptional harmony across nearly every feature at once: eye area, cheekbones, jaw, nose and skin, judged against the forums' model and celebrity examples. Forums treat it as rare enough to name individual people.
Reality check: Chad is a forum label for a photo of a professionally lit and styled person. It is not a population percentile, and no calculator can confirm it from a selfie.
On the free scan: Not assigned. The scan stops at ≈ 6+ because the gap between 6.5 and 7.5 is forum taste, not geometry.
Chadlite
PSL 6–6.5Also: chad lite, StacyliteWhat forums mean: Clearly above the midpoint with strong bone structure, but with one or two features that keep the face out of the Chad tier: a softer jaw, a less deep-set eye area, a narrower face. The stock example is a good-looking actor who is not a model.
Reality check: The lines between HTN, Chadlite and Chad are where rating threads argue most, because they come down to taste in bone structure. Two threads rating the same photo often land a full tier apart.
On the free scan: Harmony 87–100 returns ≈ 6+, the top range the scan gives. It reports Chadlite territory as a floor, never a precise 6.5.
HTN (high-tier normie)

Reality check: The highest tier most raters give anyone who is not a model or an actor. Forums like to say it is the top 15 to 25 percent; that figure is repeated, never measured.
On the free scan: Harmony 80–86 returns ≈ 5–6, the HTN band and the edge of Chadlite.
MTN (mid-tier normie)

Reality check: Four is the midpoint by definition, not by measurement: no representative sample has ever been rated to check it. Most people who post a photo for a rating are told they are here.
On the free scan: Harmony 56–74 returns ≈ 4–4.5; 75–79 returns ≈ 4.5–5.5, the upper edge of this band.
LTN (low-tier normie)
PSL 3–3.5Also: low tier normie, sub 5What forums mean: Just below the scale's midpoint of 4. Forums describe an ordinary face with one or two features they would flag, such as a recessed chin or a heavy under-eye area, and file it under 'sub 5'.
Reality check: One step from the midpoint. Photo conditions move a rating this far on their own: a phone lens at arm's length widens the nose and narrows the jaw compared with the same face shot from two meters away.
On the free scan: Harmony scores below 56 return ≈ 3.5–4, which sits on the LTN and normie boundary.
Sub 3
PSL 1–2.5Also: sub-3, PSL 1 to 2.5What forums mean: The forums' bottom band: faces they place far from their photographic canon, usually with a comment about bone structure or facial harmony. The usual forum label for this band is an insult, so this chart uses the number.
Reality check: Distance from one online aesthetic canon says little about how a person is received in real life. Almost every 'sub 3' verdict is a stranger rating a selfie with unknown lighting, lens distance and expression.
On the free scan: Not assigned. The free scan's lowest range is ≈ 3.5–4; it does not label anyone 1 to 3 from a photo.
Two Scales, One Set of Names
The original PSL scale runs 1 to 8. It was built on the forums PuaHate, SlutHate and Lookism with 4 as the defined midpoint, 5 as the start of "high tier", and 8 as a ceiling anchored to a few celebrity photos. The tier names were coined on that scale, which is why an HTN is a 5 and a Chad is a 7.
The newer charts, mostly from TikTok and the rating apps, keep the names but put them on a 1 to 10 scale, so the same Chadlite becomes a 7 and a Chad a 7.5 to 8.5. That is where "sub 5" gets its second meaning: on the 1–8 scale it is below the high-tier line, on the out-of-10 charts it is below average. The regions overlap, the numbers do not, and nobody has calibrated one against the other. When two people argue about whether a face is a 5 or a 6, check which scale each of them is using first.
How Forums Assign a Tier
A rating thread looks at bone structure first: the eye area and brow ridge, cheekbones, jaw and chin, then nose, skin and how masculine or feminine the face reads. Harmony across all of them is what separates HTN from Chadlite from Chad. Hair, style, body and expression are supposed to be set aside, which is the difference between a PSL rating and how attractive someone is in a room. The verdict is a stranger's taste applied to one photo, so lighting, lens distance and the rater's mood move it by a tier on their own. The canon the forums rate against also has a documented Eurocentric bias, so distance from it is not distance from being attractive.

Is being sub 5 bad?
Not in any measured sense. The label means a stranger placed a photo below the forums' high-tier line, and the forums' own convention puts the majority of faces there. It says nothing about real-life attractiveness, which depends on expression, style, grooming, voice and how someone carries themselves, none of which a photo rating includes. If the phrase is bothering you, that is the intended effect of the slang, not information about your face.

Sub 3 is the forums' bottom band on the 1–8 PSL scale, roughly 1 to 2.5, for faces they place far from their photographic canon. The forum name for this band is an insult, which is why this chart uses the number instead. In practice it is handed out in rating threads to selfies with bad lighting and a wide-angle phone lens as often as to anything about the face. A chadlite is one tier below Chad: PSL 6–6.5 on the 1–8 scale, or about 7–7.5 on the out-of-10 charts. Forums use it for a face with clearly strong bone structure and harmony that still has one or two features short of their Chad canon, such as a softer jaw or a less deep-set eye area. The women's equivalent is Stacylite. On this site's free scan, a harmony score of 87 or more returns the range '6 and above', which is Chadlite territory reported as a floor rather than a precise number.
What is the difference between Chad and Chadlite?
One tier, and the most argued-over line on the chart. Chad, PSL 7–7.5, is the forums' label for near-complete harmony across every feature at once, judged against model and celebrity photos. Chadlite, PSL 6–6.5, has the bone structure but one or two features forums would still change. Because the difference is taste in bone structure rather than anything measurable, two rating threads looking at the same photo often disagree by exactly this one tier. No calculator can settle it from a selfie, and this site's scan does not try: it stops at '6 and above'.

What comes after True Adam?
Nothing. True Adam is the ceiling of the scale, so there is no tier above it. The words people sometimes put above it, such as gigachad or terachad, are synonyms or jokes rather than higher bands: on every serious version of the chart they sit in the same 7.5 to 8 region. If a chart shows a tier above True Adam, it has invented one.
Is there a looksmaxxing chart for women?
Yes, and it uses the same 1–8 PSL numbers with different names at the top: Stacylite for the Chadlite band at 6–6.5, Stacy for the Chad band at 7–7.5, and True Eve for the ceiling at 8. The normie tiers keep the LTN, MTN and HTN names. The forums' other women's labels are insults, so this chart does not list them. Forums also rate women on different traits, with more weight on softness, skin and youthfulness than on jaw and brow. The free scan on this site does not detect or ask your sex and applies the same geometry to every face.
What percentage of people are in each tier?
Nobody knows, because no representative sample of faces has ever been rated on the PSL scale. The figure that circulates, that 92.7 percent of people are normies, comes from a meme distribution chart rather than a study, and the 'top 1 percent' and 'top 0.1 percent' labels on Chad and True Adam are lore repeated from thread to thread. The only fixed points are definitional: 4 is the midpoint because the scale says so, and 8 is a ceiling nobody is given.
Can a test tell me my PSL tier?
