Nothing about your face changes when the frame is flipped. What changes is which side each feature is on, and you have spent your whole life learning the reflected arrangement. Every face is a little asymmetric: one brow sits higher, the smile pulls to one side, the nose leans a degree or two. In the mirror those asymmetries are where you expect them. In the true view they swap sides, and your brain reports the change as "something is off", even though it is the exact face everyone around you knows.

The TikTok "inverted filter" is the same operation as the True view here: it removes the reflection from the front-camera preview. It adds nothing and hides nothing; it is the orientation the rest of the world has always had.
The viral filter that mirrors each half of the face splits the frame down the middle. Tilt your head a few degrees and the join runs through your nose at an angle, which makes every face look worse than it is. The Halves view here fits a line through five midline landmarks (forehead, nose bridge, nose base, chin) on every frame and reflects across that, so the two composites are your actual left-doubled and right-doubled face.
