What is the difference between a cat eye and a squirrel lash map?

A squirrel map peaks at the outer iris edge and drops again at the corner (8-10-12-13-11 mm), which lifts the eye without dragging the corner. That is why the tool recommends squirrel for downturned corners, where a cat eye would pull the eye further down, and cat eye for round or close-set eyes, where the extra length is the point.

Which lash lengths should I use?

The maps run from 8 to 13 mm, which is the range lash technicians map most sets in. Lash artists keep an extension within about 3 mm of the natural lash, so if your own lashes are short, take every zone down by the same amount and the shape stays. The tool shows each zone's width on your eye in millimetres (eye width divided by five), so you know how much lash line each length covers.

How many cluster lashes do I need per eye?

It depends on the cluster width, which varies by brand (roughly 4 to 10 mm per segment). Divide your eye width by the width of the clusters you bought: the tool prints the eye width in millimetres, so a 28 mm eye takes about five 6 mm clusters, one per zone, or more of a narrower cluster. Lay the longest ones in the peak zone of your map.

Is this lash mapping tool accurate?

It is an accurate estimate of your eye's geometry, not a prescription. The opening shape and corner orientation come from the same engine as the eye shape detector; the eye width and the zone widths are in millimetres through the iris ruler (11.7 mm across in almost every adult), with about ±1 mm of spread. The lengths and the pairings are lash-technician conventions from published mapping guides, which disagree in places (downturned eyes most of all); the tool states which school it follows. Lid type is self-reported.

No. The face mesh runs in your browser, on your device, and the map is drawn there. Only the resulting measurements (not the photo or the mesh) are saved so the free tools can be improved.
